Yarnnakarn is a small craft studio in Bangkok, telling stories through our contemporary ceramic pieces about the passage of time and diversity among humans and nature.
Their local craftsmen create wistful ceramic pieces, using experimental techniques and materials. The natural clays are gathered from various locations in Thailand and mixed to their own formula. The story of each individual piece is told in details. Using non-toxic glazes and each piece comes into being in its own time, with variations in temperature and moisture. Slight variations of forms, colours, and textures are unique characteristics.
The studio was founded in 2010 by Karin Phisolyabut, who earned a B.A. in Ceramic Design from Thailand and a M.A. in Fine Arts from the United Kingdom.
